Missing Samantha

Who is Samantha? Well, as much as 1 year olds can be "friends", she's Emerson's best buddy. Samantha and Em started daycare about the same time. They play together and make each other laugh -- like Samantha will pull her bib up and down to make Emerson laugh and Em will toss toys to make Samantha laugh. Last week, Samantha "graduated" from the wobbler room to the next room. Emerson is still in the wobbler room. She's been so much more clingy to Miss Sandy (the infant room teacher and her favorite!). Usually when we drop her off in the morning she dashes out to start playing with something, but this past week, she immediately runs to Sandy to be hugged and picked up. Apparently, she's even been trying to stay in the infant room with Sandy by "hiding" under the baby bouncers. Poor girl, she misses her friend. On Wednesday, they let Emerson go to the orange room for a visit and to go outside to play with the orange room kids and she was played really good and, as I imagine, was much happier. Em's wobbler room teacher (Miss Terri) told me that she'll be the next one to move up, but they want to make sure she can self-feed more (rather than eating baby food) and get a little bigger since she's so much smaller than the orange room group. In the meantime, Em will have to make friends with her wobbler room gang (Leah & Joseph).
