Backing up a minute... My mom has been looking for a ball for Emerson and finally found what she thought would be perfect for her and was looking forward to bringing it to her today.
Well, my mom didn't exactly get the reaction she thought she would get. Em seems so fearless moving around and exploring, but we have stumbled across something that really has scared her... a soccer ball. I don't know what it is about this ball that she doesn't like -- the size? color? shape? -- it's not even a real ball. It's just a super soft stuffed ball that we all thought Em would love knocking around across the floor. When my mom set the ball next to her, thinking that she would love it, instead Em started to cry and continued to cry until the ball was out of sight. Only, it was just put somewhat out of sight. When Em would go to the side of the room where she could see it, she would look at it and start to cry all over again. So, at least for the time being, no more soccer balls!
Back to Em's fearless side... She seems to love getting into the kitchen at every opportunity and grabbing hold of anything she can get her fingers on (baskets, a bag of chips, the heat vent). She's crawling around so good now (and so fast!). She doesn't even have to think or even try very hard to get up on her knees to touch or reach for things. Here we go...

okay that is so totally funny... Remember how your cats would freak out when I wore my nike pants and it made that swhoosh sound when I walked? That is what I am envisioning now with Emerson and that ball. What a little stinker to try to find the ball just so she could cry again....so funny!
Do you think it is the color red? Maybe a pink ball?
love ya!
I love how kids now what they like and don't like and want they want and don't want.
Good luck with the "soccer ball issues" and even more luck with the house. It's all down hill from here:)!
