We spent the 4th at Todd's parents. Em did a little bit of everything -- sidewalk chalk coloring, helping to water the flowers, swimming (which she calls "Grandpa & Grandma's beach") -- she loved watching Grandpa & Daddy jump into the pool, for which Em proudly clapped & cheered -- playing basketball, riding bikes...






She also had her first taste of corn-on-the-cob & loved it! I think holding the cob was the best part!

We had a mini-vacation up in Manistee with Todd's family. Em had a blast & did so well. The accommodations were quite out-dated, but you couldn't beat the location & having the beach just steps away from our rooms.

She was able to spend lots of time with Haley. They both played so well together...

The first day at the beach, she completely surprised me by going right into the water. We all had lots of fun jumping & "swimming". The remaining days, Em was more than content just playing in the sand & at the park.

She had fun with Grandpa's binoculars, although she couldn't quite figure out how to use them. She also was fond of picking flowers. We told her they were Black Eyed Susan's, but she called them "Black Susie's".
