This was the big year. We decided to officially go out and participate in Trick-or-Treating this year. I had no idea what to expect for how Em would do, but we decided to go for it anyway. Todd's parents came up to see Em dressed up and to pass out candy while we went out. Em was very excited about it and for the weeks leading up to Halloween, she would say that she's going to go trick-or-treating. However, ever since she came home with the cat ears from daycare, she kept saying she was going to be a kitty cat for Halloween. I was a bit worried as the only costume we had for her was a princess that I bought for her months in advance. We even tried to look for some type of cat costume, but (not surprisingly) there wasn't much of anything left to choose from in the days just before Halloween. So, we decided to pump up the princess idea. Fortunately, it worked. She loved her costume and wore it just about the entire day!

Em doing her princess moves...
Grandma & Grandpa brought cupcakes for decorating. This was big hit with Emerson.
All bundled-up and ready for Trick-or-Treating...
She completely surprised me! She kept wanting to go to more and more houses. Every house that had a light on, she wanted to go to. She was such a big & brave girl, going up to the houses (mostly) by herself & saying "trick-or-treat". She also did very good saying thank you at each house. We did have to make the hike over to Bill's house since Em had been asking to visit Bill for a couple of weeks. By the time we made it over that way, we were all a bit cold & just about ready to be done, but Em had one good last "trick-or-treat" in her for Bill.

Since Em doesn't eat candy (other than a few M&M's) she mostly enjoyed carrying her bag around with the candy. Somehow (in other words -- Daddy), Em's candy stash dwindled over the weeks following Halloween. My favorite part is when you would ask Em where candy bag was, she would very sadly say "I have no more candy, Daddy ate all my candy." Poor thing!
