We've been meaning to take Emerson to the zoo for several weeks now, but when some dear old friends called to see if we wanted to meet them over at Binder Park, we decided it was time to go. Thanks Yanny, Shaun, Madeleine, & Sophia for inviting us! We had a great time and Em LOVED watching both the animals and Maddy running around!
Here's Em when we got to the zoo... already tired! She perked up right away and was ready to go. Right away a peacock crossed our path and Em took right off after it. She spent most of the saying & waving hello or good-bye to the animals.
Getting ready to go see the giraffes. The Africa exhibit really is quite impressive. We got right up to see, feed, and touch the giraffes. We hit this part of the zoo at the perfect time, all 3 of the giraffes were eager to take the lettuce leaves we were offering. Em loved seeing them, but wasn't too sure about touching one.

So did Maddy...
We tried the carousel.... Em had a very tight grip on me for the entire ride! I think we will be holding off on carousel rides for a while.
The day ended just like it began, Em passed out in her car seat.

I think the only reason we go to Binder park Zoo is for the Giraffes! Last year when we went we feed them little crackers....now you feed them lettuce??? Must have them on a diet??
Em sure does look super cute in all the pictures! Looks like you guys had a great time!
